How it works
Create
Paste your channel's @handle. SofaSub makes your code and a see-through graphic sized for your video.
Add
Drop the graphic on the top track of your edit. The code sits in the corner, clear of YouTube's buttons.
Scan
Viewers point their phone at the TV and land on your channel in their own YouTube app, ready to subscribe.
The code is part of your video, so it shows wherever it plays: smart TVs, consoles, Fire Sticks and Chromecast.
Why SofaSub
Their account, their choice
The scan opens YouTube on the viewer's own phone, signed in as them, not whoever owns the TV. Nothing happens unless they tap it.
Nothing to hand over
We never ask for your YouTube login or channel access. You just paste your public @handle.
See what's working
Count scans and click-throughs to YouTube, video by video, so you know which videos bring TV viewers back.
Codes that keep working
One free code works on every video you make, and codes keep working whatever plan you're on.
What SofaSub can measure
We're straight about this. A click isn't the same as a subscribe, and YouTube doesn't share who subscribed with outside tools. Use SofaSub for scans and clicks, and YouTube Studio for your subscriber count.
| What happens | Can SofaSub measure it? |
|---|---|
| Someone scans the QR code | Yes, with scan tracking |
| Someone presses your Subscribe button | Yes, as the click goes through SofaSub |
| Someone actually subscribes on YouTube | No, not from the click alone. Check YouTube Studio. |
| Someone completes a Like or Comment | No, not from the click alone |

Questions
Can't people already subscribe on the TV?
Sometimes, if the TV is signed in to their own account. But TVs are often signed in to someone else's account, or not signed in at all, and typing on a TV remote is slow. A scan lets them subscribe on the phone they're already signed in on.
Does one free code work on all my videos?
Yes. A channel code sends viewers to your channel, so you can put the same graphic in every video. Pro lets you make a separate code per video so you can compare them.
Will it scan from the sofa?
The graphic is sized for a TV, about a fifth of the screen height, with a white border so phones pick it up from a few metres away. Keep it on screen for 10–15 seconds and test it on your own TV before publishing.
Where should I put the code?
Bottom left works best. It stays clear of YouTube's progress bar, end screens and the info cards that appear top right. Mention it once out loud: "Watching on the TV? Scan the code to subscribe."
Can it like, comment or subscribe automatically?
No, and nothing should. Every action is done by the viewer on their own phone, so everything stays genuine and within YouTube's rules.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
Every code you've made keeps working, because it's already in your videos. You just can't make new ones beyond the free limit.
